The beginning of the book was kind of slow. It was hard to stay interested in it. However, after the middle section when Phoney and Smiley are dragged to the bar, things get interesting. The jokes are more spaced out in the this book compared to the second. It also delved further into the plot and deepened the mystery. Although I feel the story really didn't kick off until the last part of the book. I really enjoyed how the mystery developed a bit more compared to the second book.
Some of the drawing proportions were off, and so I was confused about the character body types, especially Grandma's style. I can't tell if she's fat or skinny.
